SEAHORSE
Situated on the waterfront identified as the Ventura Keys, the renovation of this prominent home was founded on a narrative of its sea-faring legacy. A product of the 1970’s, there were multiple levels and stairs to seemingly nowhere, yet the charm and opportunity in this house was undeniable. The design team was charged with updating the kitchen, connecting living space to the outdoor gathering space, renovating bathrooms and developing a color and material palette (both indoor and outdoor) to unify the home as a whole. Additionally, there was a need to redesign the front façade of the house and expand the useability of the attic space to provide additional beds/ kids playroom.
A bespoke railing design provided a unifying element, both interior and exterior, used at balconies, the new exterior spiral stair as well as interior stairs, resulting in a layered sophistication that was added to the bones of the original house.
Working together with the owner (who operates in the commercial furniture world), materials, furnishings, fixtures, and fittings were collaboratively selected and installed.
